POSITION OVERVIEW

This person will serve on select client accounts, support an account team lead, and provide full-service communications counsel and functions, including:

  • Communications + Brand Strategy—brand positioning, messaging and reputation management

  • Strategic Counsel + Research—guidance driven by market and audience insights

  • Content + Channels—media, social, influencer, paid, internal/executive, crisis, events, email/website, SEO/GEO

  • Measurement + Reporting—KPI setting, tracking and results reporting


  • AI Proficiency— solid working knowledge of major AI tools to enhance all areas of work

Desired Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in agency, corporate or nonprofit public relations, communications, journalism or related field

  • Bachelor's degree in public relations, marketing, digital, communications or journalism strongly preferred

  • Knowledge of the Christian market niche in the United States and an interest in advancing their brands

  • Proficiency using emerging AI tools for brainstorming, content creation, research, campaign optimization and analytics

  • Proven ability to integrate AI strategies into communications and marketing plans

  • Knowledge of influencer marketing, including sourcing, negotiating and managing creator partnerships

  • Strong understanding of social and digital trends, with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for clients

  • Ability to track, interpret and report on performance metrics

  • Creative, tech-savvy mindset with curiosity to test new platforms and tools

  • Proven record of smart thinking, strong work ethic and a proactive, growth-oriented mindset

  • Skilled in communications strategy and planning, with the ability to manage multiple projects from conception to completion

  • Exceptional writer and communicator across news, social, promotional and editorial formats, with solid understanding of media needs and social platforms

  • Creative, entrepreneurial problem-solver with sound judgment, maturity and a collaborative, flexible spirit

  • Self-starter who works independently and thrives in team settings

Key Responsibilities

  • Communications Planning: Develop strategic and operational communications plans for clients and assist in the assessment of client communications programs.

  • Counsel: Provide wise and measured counsel on news-of-the-day, social and digital strategies and plans, internal relations, communications strategy and tactics, messaging, target audiences and crisis scenarios.

  • Account Management: Support multiple client accounts, including the monitoring and advancing of communication plans and day-to-day account tasks. Help retain and grow current accounts year over year.

  • Writing: Draft reports, strategy, digital content, news releases, op-eds, speeches, memos and other materials, as needed.

  • Internal Communications: Assess client's apparatus, recommend improvements, implement roadmap. Develop strategy and tactics for educating and motivating internal client audiences.

  • Branding: Understand fundamentals of branding, and be able to assess and provide recommendations on a client’s brand health. Project manage brand audits, brand refinements, brand recommendations and new brand development.

  • Social Media + Digital Strategies: Implement social media and digital campaigns for clients, including strategy, writing, simple design, vendor management, metrics tracking and reporting.

  • Media Relations: Help develop media relations plans and strategies for clients, write media materials, maintain regular contact with media representatives, and pitch story and interview ideas. Coordinate and produce press conferences, media events and publicity tours, as needed.

  • SEO/GEO: Understand basics of SEO/GEO and how it affects clients’ digital properties, content strategy and online reputation. Work with in-house experts to integrate SEO/GEO into client accounts or campaigns.

  • Marketing + Advertising: Work with colleagues and partners to implement marketing and paid strategies for clients, as needed. This may include content marketing, email campaigns, influencer marketing, boosted social, paid social, etc.

There will be some travel associated with this position (up to 25%).
